Favourable infrastructure

Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County is located 100 km far from Budapest and 80 km far from Ferihegy Airport. From the direction of the Capital there is easy access to the northern part of the county on the M3 Freeway and Road 4 crosses the county. According to the plans, the M44 Freeway is to be constructed soon, which will further improve the accessibility of the region on road from every direction and will ease the link with neighbouring countries.

The railway network is exceptionally good. Szolnok City is an important regional railway junction; its passenger- and goods-station is one of the largest in Central-Europe.
The potential in railway lines between Budapest-Szolnok- Debrecen-Nyíregyháza- Záhony, and Budapest-Szolnok- Békéscsaba-Arad is not negligible from international transport and trade point of view.

The largest river in the county, which is the second largest river in Hungary, the Tisza River provides possibility for 650 – 1000 ton ships.

The 200 ha grass-covered airport of Szolnok City is suitable for receiving small aircrafts and it is a good basis for air traffic in the region, together with the military airport, which is operated by the Hungarian Army and is to be used for both military and civil purposes.
